5月25日(土)〜26(日)に行われた六本木アートナイト2019で、ビデオインスタレーション「記憶のトレース」を六本木天祖神社にて発表しました。

昼間に、観客の方々におみくじを配布して結び所に結んでもらい、その様子をタイムラプス撮影。夜にその映像を同じ場所にプロジェクションし、昼間の参加者がおみくじを結ぶ姿を、結ばれたおみくじの上に投影しました。

昼間の観客は夜の作品の一部となり、日常に残された物の記憶の痕跡をたどってみせるインスタレーション作品です。

たくさんの人がご参加くださり、夜にはその方々の結ぶ姿の映像をおみくじに投影することができました。

東京都主催というのもあり、オープニングには都知事も挨拶をしていたり、普通の芸術祭よりお祭り感は強い印象で、なかなか楽しい展示になりました。

こういう機会に、参加型のインスタレーションができたのはよかったなあ。展示しながら第二弾を考えたりしていました。

Exhibited my new video installation work "Tracing Memory"

The work was exhibited in Roppongi Art night 2019 on May25th-26th at Tenso Shirine in Roppongi

Video installation (night) / Participative installation (day)

During the day, spectators tie paper strips to the art piece like “Omikuji”, fortune-telling scrolls found at shrines.

These acts are continuously shot on time-lapse.

At night, these time-lapse videos of the people tying scrolls will be layered on the actual tied paper.

Images of daytime spectators become a part of the night’s artwork representing the trail of the things left in our daily life.

One of the biggest art festivals in Japan, organized by Tokyo city.

It was nice that I could present the participative installation for this occasion!
